It shows the Portland region to be an open-minded area, much more so than the rest of Oregon (with the exception of, perhaps, the Eugene-Corvallis-Salem corridor), and also provides great ideas for day trips to other parts of the state. BEST PLACES PORTLAND is a great guide to the Portland metro area. Some of the formats listed for a few radio stations have recently changed, but that's a minor quibble, because this book is remarkably well-written, making it equally essential for the vacationer and the person who's moving to the area.
