Unusual, but interesting
At first I was disappointed, as it is fairly odd in size and content. In case you didn't notice the dimensions listed, be warned - this book is tiny! The size of your palm. But when I started looking through it I found it very interesting, even if I won't visit most of the places. It is a kind of local's view into some of the really old "districts", like undergarments, millinery, and diamonds. I don't think I will be shopping for any of those things on my trip to NYC, but it was a very nice glimpse into local color!.

NOT a very helpful book
This book only tells you where to shop for very specific items- including fabric, undergarments, musical instruments, buttons and trimmings and kitchenware. I bought this book for my 17 year old niece, who wants to go to school in NYC and loves designer labels. Doesn't hit on clothing or accessories at all. I thought it would be a good guide for when she visits to see where she can get some deals on designer stuff, but that's not it at all. This book is only good if:
1. ) you actually live in NYC and
2. ) you are specifically looking for something in one of the areas covered.

I am VERY disappointed in this book. I would give it 0 stars if I could.
