Steers in the right direction 
Accurate descriptions and recommendations on accomodations, restaurants, and activities. Great book for good value travel (although it provides info on all types of travel from Budget to Luxury). Used it to plan a amazing 7 day trip to numerous sights in Costa Rica. Highly recommend the book.
