Fodor's is easier to use - it isn't boringly laborious to read. I purchased Fodor's and Lonely Planet's Costa Rica Guides. The layout and reader-friendly format makes it a pleasure both to scan and to read at lentgth when subtexts catch one's interest. This is the book we'll take with us to Costa Rica.

Not a whole lot of information in this book
. While I found the reviews to be accurate, this book does not have a whole lot of selections compared to other books like Lonley Planet.

Accurate and fun to read
Much to my surprise, my wife and I recently went to Costa Rica and found Fodor's to be perfect. Much of my travel experience has relied on the Lonely Planet guides, or the "Let's Go" series. The descriptions of the hotels, the culture, and the attractions were right in line with our experience. It is possible that we were wearing "Fodor-colored glasses. " Regardless, we found it to be a wonderful book and well worth the cost. .
