Good book for inside information
It is not a review book but is a great resource. I've traveled to Costa Rica several times and this book really provides inside information for local restaurants, internet cafes, laundry places. Also, we found the local maps of each city very helpful when we drove around. We used a more traditional guide book to plan the tour and used this book while we in Costa Rica. Very helpful for us.

A complete waste of money
Instead what I got is a list of hotels and eateries without any sort of review and countless paid advertisements for all kinds of businesses. I bought this book thinking that the staff of the Tico Times might have some special insight into Cost Rica which would make my trip more interesting than the conventional travel guides.

Of the numerous travel guides to Costa Rica which I purchased this was by far the least informative. Save your money.
