Excellent bilinqual book
It is beyond a beginner but good for an intermediate student. I am fluent in Spanish and purchased this for a new class. I passed it along to my middle school age daughter and she has enjoyed using it.

Excellent book for self-study
It is used as part of our Intermediate level Conversational Spanish Classes at Spanish Black Belt in Washington DC. This book is highly recommended. It contains many short readings writen in both English and Spanish which helps students better administer their transition to the advanced levels. The topics of these readings are highly interesting and well represent much of the culture and traditions of many different Spanish-speaking countries. .

Stories from Latin America
It contains 16 short and entertaining stories in both Spanish and English. Stories from Latin America is one of the most valuable books a Spanish student can own. Reading this book is the perfect way to review your Spanish reading skills if you haven't taken a course in a while, or if you are simply looking to improve your reading speed. The book is geared toward intermediate Spanish students (equivalent to Spanish 3 or AP Spanish in high school). If you're new to Spanish, then the book will probably be pretty difficult. If you're intermediate or better in Spanish, then I highly recommend it.
