You can get essentially the same thing, only without lamination, from a tourist bureau while in Venice for free. This is a Venice street map, laminated, folding into standard envelope size item. A good product, but not an essential one to buy ahead of your trip to Venice - get it there.

Streetwise Venice
Venice is far too complicated to map properly; you'll end up more confused. Don't buy a map of Venice, unless you want it for its sentimental value. Just follow the MANY streetsigns in the city and you will find what you are looking for. Besides, getting a little lost in Venice isn't a bad way to spend your day anyway.

Most travelers will not need any other map
Lightweight, laminated (waterproof), pocket-sized, and with almost all the detail that most Venice visitors, new or experienced, will need. There are maps with more detail, but this map is an essential. Fully-opened, it is still small and easy to use. A handy gazeteer lists many streets and monuments, with map grid locations. There are some very tiny streets/alleys that are hard to make out, but that is true for almost any
pocket-sized folding map. A guidebook like the Michelin Green will have some maps in it that may have more detail, but with this one, you needn't refer to the book most of the time.
